Acoustic Blues & Beyond

Hello.  My name's Chester. That's me in the picture, and I'm responsible for the human being you may know as Martin Wood.   What he does is sing & play acoustic blues, folk and Americana type stuff on resonator, slide and acoustic guitar, as well as mandolin.

So when I should be out there chasing rabbits  or that tasty Labrador called Trixy from up the road, I'm stuck at home with him playing stuff by Muddy Waters, Furry Lewis, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie Johnson, Bob Dylan, Tampa Red, Van Morrison, Robert Johnson, St. Louis Jimmy, Howlin' Wolf, Mississippi John Hurt, JJ Cale, Jimmy Reed, and some of his own songs as well.

Any money made from all this, goes here (go via the links page for more information):

Not only that, he's managed to find two like minded blokes to play this sort of stuff with him.  On these occasions, they perform as the  Rag & Moan Men and can be found in various pubs, clubs and art centres around North Hampshire and Berkshire.

Then there's  Backporch, an (almost) open mic. session bringing good acoustic music to the people of north Hampshire every month.

So, if you love this kind of music, check out the gig list and come and say hello, or make a booking for your own event, by getting in touch via the  Contact Form.

Oh, and you might point out that rather than just playing "Walkin' the Dog," it would be appreciated if he actually did it for real once in a while.
